Wounds & Bleeding

When it comes to bleeding there are 3 types; Arterial, Venous, & Capillary. There are three definitions below but which definition matches the type of bleed?
  1. Dark Red. Deoxygenated blood that pours from wounds. May flow profusely.
  2. Oozing occurs at the sight of all wounds. Blood loss tends to be slight.
  3. Bright oxygenated blood spurts from a wound in time with the heart beat.
There are 6 types of wound;
•Gunshot
•Abrasion
•Laceration
•Puncture
•Incision
•Contusion
Please give a brief explanation as to what each wound should look like, it might be helpful to add a picture to highlight your understanding and explanation :)
Shock
What is shock? What are the signs & symptoms? How can it be treated?

What is the difference between the two?

How should they be treated?

Once you have finished working through this section I would like you to go back over the previous lessons and catch up on any work missed. Next health class, Monday 28th Nov will be your end of unit quiz. I will be using the score gained from that as well as the quality of content on your blog to determine your trimester 1 health score.
