Stages of a break-up

Breaking up is never easy, whether you are on the receiving end of it or the one instigating the procedure. When it does happen to you, we go through 7 stages. Please list the below the 7 stages and provide an explanation of each stage.

Case studies

Below are several amounts of examples where breaking up takes place. With a partner, please read the scenario and then answer each of these questions attached to it.

CASE STUDY 1.
Simon has recently broken up with a long-term boyfriend, he is feeling really alone and finds it difficult to move on. He is concerned his chance for love has passed. 
  1. What stage of the break up is this person is going through?
  2. What are strategies you could use to deal with this situation that would positively aid your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?
  3. What are negative ways to deal with this situation that will negatively affect your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?


CASE STUDY 2.
Mary broke up with her boyfriend 6 months ago and recently ran into him at the local bar. He went on to state that he has seen other girls but they don’t compare to her and although she does not love him he feels they can make it work.

  1. What stage of the break up is this person is going through?
  2. What are strategies you could use to deal with this situation that would positively aid your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?
  3.  What are negative ways to deal with this situation that will negatively affect your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?


CASE STUDY 3.
Michael caught his partner sleeping with another person and after shock and denial. He is struggling with aggression towards his ex-partner and has sent abusive emails to vent his spleen and put forward his deep hurt.
 
1. What stage of the break up is this person is going through?
2. What are strategies you could use to deal with this situation that would positively aid your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?
3. What are negative ways to deal with this situation that will negatively affect your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?

CASE STUDY 4.
Since breaking up with her long-term girlfriend Jenny has been throwing herself into going out drinking with friends.
She has also been drinking heavily and engaging in regular high-risk regular sex (one night stands) in an attempt to move on.
 
1. What stage of the break up is this person is going through?
2. What are strategies you could use to deal with this situation that would positively aid your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?
3. What are negative ways to deal with this situation that will negatively affect your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?

CASE STUDY 5.
Naomi broke up with a partner some time ago and has recently begun dating new people, she is enjoying her new freedom and feels comfortable with how she feels about herself.

  1. What stage of the break up is this person is going through?
  2. What are strategies you could use to deal with this situation that would positively aid your mental health and well-being in this stage of breaking up?

CASE STUDY 6.
Since breaking up with his partner, Kieran has started going to the gym excessively and recently started a cycle of steroids to make himself appear more attractive. His self-worth has been lowered since breaking up with his ex-partner and he is overly conscience about how he is viewed by others more than ever.

Last class, you made a list of the most common examples of STI. From that list, I would like you to choose 5 and then complete the following tasks for each of those STI's identified.

  1. Provide a picture supporting your STI
  2. Is it bacterial or viral?

Sexually Transmitted Infections


STI's are a form of communicable disease. There are viral (virus) and Bacterial (bacteria) forms of STI. Explain the difference between the two.

Can you get an STI if…….

1. You withdraw the penis from the vagina before ejaculation?
2. You have sex in the shower, pool and ocean?

3. You have anal sex instead of vaginal sex?

4. You give or receive oral sex?

7. You play with a person's vagina or penis?

8. If you kiss someone?

9. If you are on the contraceptive pill?

Apart from being passed on through the air, how else can an STI be contracted? make a list.

What methods can be used to help prevent you catching at STI?

Depending on the type of infection you have, there are different methods of testing. Make a list and explain the various types of tests that can be given to you.

HIV/AIDS

Obviously, these are both horrible diseases but it is important to know that although they are often mentioned in the same sentence, they are NOT the same.
Please can you not only explain the difference between them but also discuss the symptoms that occur too.

It's party time! Not literally though I'm afraid. For your end of T2 assignment, you will be using your knowledge from the previous classes to answer the questions below. Please be specific in your answers but keep on task and do not get side-tracked.

You are thinking of planning a party, but, you know that there are numerous considerations that needed to be thought of in the process.
